Umm... no. Not illegal. It is, however, against the rules set up by storm8.

While it is unlikely that you would go to jail for such an infraction unless you happen to clobber some poor nutter over the head with your PC during a bout of WW frustration, it is very possible that Storm may have you quartered, diced, or otherwise suspended.

Maybe not considered illegal however playing Storm8 games on anything other then the approved devices (itouch and iphone) can get you banned from playing all games which is what moderators have posted. I'd recommend staying away from using anything other then the approved devices - especially because it seems they are cracking down on this sort of thing.

Yeah fair enough, how exactly does in uneven the playing field though? I can understand the faster DL speeds, so more attacks, but really you're going to end up attacking them anyway. and it'd mkae typing faster too.

I'll explain as it astounded me when I found it after recently starting a new account.

What they do is script attacks on the hit list so that they are the first to attack anyone with money over a certain ammount. They are known as money transfer bots.

What happens is one account tosses up say a 1 million bounty. The bot account attacks it and nearly always wins as it's faster than we can be with iphone/ipod. This has the consequence of filling the sanc list (see complaints) and because the bot needs an updated sanc list to work it puts massive strain on the servers as it refreshes the sanc list very often.

These bots are nearly always low level.

You can't see it now but it was amazing to watch. You would sanc a lowlevel account for 1 million and the same bot account would win everytime. I had a page full of winners all of whom started with the name ROK. Was uncanny how fast they would win.

I think pengo has it right. Playing on a PC does not really give much of an advantage if any. But it enables people to write little automation tools. And those tools give an unfair advantage for sure.

I´ve seen them too. Storm8 really should do something about this. This has the potential to totally destroy the game.
